Marketplace Policy
Effective 14 August 2026
How the Slaby shared marketplace works, who sells on it, and how problems are reported and resolved. This page covers the cross-store discovery surfaces; each store also has its own policies.
1. Our role: marketplace, not seller
Slaby operates the shared marketplace as an INTERMEDIARY under the Information Technology Act and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 — a marketplace model. The products you discover here are listed and sold by independent merchant stores; Slaby does not own the inventory, set the prices, or become a party to the sale. Your contract of sale is with the store you buy from.
2. Knowing who you're buying from
Every listing routes to the selling store, and every store page shows the store's identity and contact details as provided by the merchant. Stores that completed identity verification carry a verified badge. Order documents (invoices) come from the selling store with its business details and GST information where applicable.
3. What sellers may not do
Sellers must list accurately, honour their published prices and policies, and may not impersonate other businesses, list prohibited items, or manipulate reviews. The platform's moderation systems and staff review flagged catalog and can remove listings and suspend stores under the enforcement ladder.
4. Reporting a listing or store
Every marketplace listing carries a "Report" affordance, and every storefront a "Report this store" link. Reports go to the platform trust-and-safety queue. Where a report is substantiated, content is removed and repeat violations escalate to store suspension.
5. Grievance redressal
If a report or an order issue with a store isn't resolved, raise a grievance through the contact page. We acknowledge grievances within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within the timelines the applicable rules prescribe (generally one month). The platform operator publishes its grievance-officer contact details through the contact page.
6. Data on the marketplace surfaces
Browsing the marketplace requires no account. Enquiries (RFQs) you submit are delivered to the store you addressed them to and are visible to that store only. See the Privacy Policy for how personal data is handled across the platform, including your rights under India's DPDP Act.
