Answer wholesale buyers' price requests
A signed-in wholesale buyer asks for a price on a product. You reply with a price per item and how long the offer is valid. When they accept, it becomes an order at your quoted prices.
What the Quotes page is for
On your wholesale store, a signed-in buyer sees "Request a quote" on a product page. They type the quantity (it starts at the product's minimum order) and a message. The request lands here.
You reply with an offer price for every line. The buyer sees it in their account under quotes. They can accept, decline, or send a counter message, and you can revise the offer.
When the buyer accepts, Slaby creates a real order carrying your quoted prices. You then handle it in Orders like any other order.
- You need the "Manage orders" permission to open Quotes.
- Quotes shows in the menu only when your store sells wholesale.
- Your offer is private to that buyer. It never changes the price other buyers see.
- For quotations you give to customers at your shop counter, use Estimates instead.
Send your first offer in 4 steps
- 1
Open a request that is Awaiting price
Quotes → Awaiting price
Each row shows the products and quantities asked for and the date. Click it.
- 2
Type a price for every line
Send an offer
Type the price per unit for each product, for example 185 for ₹185 a piece. Every line needs a price; Slaby tells you which one is empty.
- 3
Add a message and choose how long it is valid
Message is optional, for example "Special rate for your quantity — valid this week."
Offer valid for: 3, 7, 14 or 30 days, or No expiry. 7 days is picked for you. After that the offer shows as Expired.
- 4
Send it
Tap "Send offer". The status becomes "Offer received" and the buyer can accept it from their account.
Quote statuses
- Awaiting price: a new request. You haven't sent an offer yet.
- Offer received: you sent an offer. Waiting for the buyer.
- Accepted: the buyer accepted. An order was made at your prices.
- Declined: you or the buyer said no.
- Expired: the offer's validity ran out before the buyer accepted.
Revise an offer or decline
If the buyer replies with a counter message, it appears in the thread at the bottom of the quote, marked Buyer. Your messages are marked You.
While a quote is Awaiting price or Offer received, the form shows "Revise the offer". Change any price and tap "Send offer" again.
Decline closes the request. The buyer sees it as declined.
After the buyer accepts
The quote page says "Accepted — order … carries the quoted prices." Open that order in Orders to confirm, pack and ship it.
Accepting holds the stock like a normal order. If a tracked item doesn't have enough pieces left, the accept is refused and the quote stays as "Offer received", so the buyer can accept once stock is back.
A quote order has no GST lines yet: its invoice is a proforma based on the subtotal. Check with your accountant how to bill GST on it.

Common questions
- Where do buyers ask for a quote?
- On a product page of your wholesale store, after they sign in. They tap "Request a quote", type the quantity and a message.
- Will other buyers see my special price?
- No. The offer goes only to the buyer who asked. Your normal prices don't change.
- Can I change my offer after sending it?
- Yes, until the buyer accepts. Open the quote, change the prices under "Revise the offer" and tap "Send offer".
- What happens when the buyer accepts?
- An order is created at your quoted prices, and the quote page links to it. Ship it from Orders.
- Why did my quote become Expired?
- The "Offer valid for" time ran out before the buyer accepted. Ask them to request again, or choose No expiry next time.
- The buyer accepted but it failed. Why?
- There wasn't enough stock for a tracked item. The quote stays open; once you add stock, the buyer can accept again.
- Can I give a quote to a walk-in customer?
- Use Estimates for that. Make it on the counter billing screen with "Save as estimate".
