No. Slaby prepares the files from your invoices. Your CA checks and files them.

Which file do I upload to the GST portal?

"GSTR-1 · JSON for the GST portal". Your GSTIN must be saved in Settings → Tax, and your CA should review it first.

Why does the GST month show last month?

Because that is the month you file next. Pick any other month in the GST month list.

Why can't I pick a whole year?

A range can be at most 92 days. Download three months at a time.

Are counter bills included?

Yes. With Sales on "Website and counter", both are included. Pick Counter only or Website only to split them.

Some lines have no HSN code. What do I do?

Add the HSN code to those products, then download again. The files use what is saved.

How do I get my sales into Tally?

Use "Download vouchers" in the Tally card and import it with Import → Transactions. The first time, import the ledgers file (Import → Masters) first.

Where are my purchase bills?

Download the Purchase register next to the Sales register. It needs "Purchases & suppliers" and "See cost prices".

Why don't I see amounts in Item-wise sales?

Item amounts show only to staff who can see wholesale prices. You still see quantities.

What the Reports page is for

Reports makes the files your accountant (CA) needs, straight from your invoices: website orders and counter bills together, or one of them.

There are two kinds of report. The sales reports (Sales register, HSN, payment modes, staff-wise and item-wise) use the From and To dates. The GST returns (GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B) use the GST month.

You need the "View orders" permission to open Reports.
The Purchase register download shows only to staff with "Purchases & suppliers" and "See cost prices".

Check with your CA before filing These files are prepared from your invoices. Slaby does not file returns for you. Ask your CA to review them before you upload or file anything.

Read the warnings
Under GSTR-1 you may see notes like "2 lines have no HSN code" or "Your GSTIN is not set in Tax settings". Fix those in Products or Settings → Tax first, because the files are made from what is saved.

"GSTR-1 · Excel" has sheets named like the GST offline tool: b2b, b2cl, b2cs, cdnr, hsn and docs. "GSTR-1 · JSON for the GST portal" is the file to upload.

The filters

From and To: the dates for the sales reports. They start on this month so far. A range can be at most 92 days.
Sales: Website and counter, Website only, or Counter only.
GST month: the month for GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B.
Show: applies your choice.

Sales register

One row per tax invoice, with GST, value and payment. Cancelled bills and proformas are left out.

The card shows Invoices, Cancelled, Taxable value, GST and Invoice value for the dates you chose. Download it as Excel or CSV. "All summaries (Excel)" puts every summary in one file.

GSTR-1

The GSTR-1 card counts what goes into each table: B2B invoices, B2C large invoices, B2C summary rows, Credit notes (registered buyers), Credit notes (unregistered) and HSN rows.

A buyer's GSTIN on the invoice makes it B2B. Credit notes come from returns.

GSTR-3B summary

Shows 3.1(a) Outward taxable supplies, 3.1(c) Nil rated / exempted, and Credit notes (already deducted), with Taxable value, IGST, CGST and SGST.

If you enter supplier bills in Purchases, it also shows 4(A)(5) Input tax credit (supplier bills, net), Supplier bills this month and Purchase returns.

3.2 lists inter-state supplies to unregistered buyers by Place of supply.

HSN, payment modes, staff-wise and item-wise

HSN summary: taxable value and tax by HSN code and rate. Lines without a code show as "No HSN".
Payment modes: invoices and amount by channel (Counter or Online) and mode.
Staff-wise counter sales: bills and amount by the staff member who billed them.
Item-wise sales: quantity and amount per item. Amounts per item show only to staff who can see wholesale prices. The page shows the top items; download the file for every item.

Tally (XML)

Download vouchers: bills, returns and udhaar payments for your From–To dates as Tally Prime vouchers (sales, credit notes and receipts with GST ledgers). In Tally use Import → Transactions.

Importing for the first time? First "Download ledgers (first import)" and import it in Tally with Import → Masters, then the vouchers. Ledger names must match your Tally company; set them with "Set ledger names" (Settings → Tally export).

What the warnings mean

"… invoices were issued with GST switched off and left out": those bills had no GST, so they aren't in the GST files.
"… invoices have no place of supply": set your state in Settings → Tax.
"… lines have no HSN code": add the HSN code to those products.
"… older invoices use the order's tax summary instead of item lines": very old orders have no item-level tax. The totals are still right.
"… credit notes could not be included": ask your CA to add them by hand.
"Only the first … documents are included": choose a shorter range.

What the labels mean

GST month: The month for GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B. It starts on last month.e.g. September 2026
Sales: Which bills to include: Website and counter, Website only, or Counter only.e.g. Counter only
Taxable value: The value before GST.e.g. ₹1,00,000
Invoice value: Taxable value plus GST.e.g. ₹1,00,000 + ₹18,000 = ₹1,18,000
B2C summary rows: Sales to buyers without a GSTIN, grouped by state and rate, as GSTR-1 asks.e.g. Maharashtra 18%
