Run a points programme for your buyers
Buyers earn points on delivered orders, sign-ups and referrals and spend them on later orders. Set how fast they earn, what a point is worth, how much of an order points can pay, plus membership tiers.
What this page is for
Rewards is a points programme for buyers on your website. They earn points and spend them as money off later orders.
The same page switches on membership tiers (Silver, Gold and so on) and sets how long a customer statement link keeps working.
Number and money boxes have their own Save button. Switches save the moment you flip them. Reset puts a setting back to its default.
- You need the "Manage settings" permission.
- Each buyer's points balance shows in Customers.
Start a points programme in 4 steps
- 1
Switch on "Rewards programme"
Programme
Nothing is earned or spent while it is off.
- 2
Set how buyers earn
Earning
"Spend needed for 1 point" is ₹100 by default: a ₹1,250 order earns 12 points. Add "Welcome points" for new sign-ups and "Referral points" if you want referrals.
- 3
Set what points are worth
Spending
"Value of 1 point" is ₹1 by default. "Most of an order payable with points" is 50% by default, so points never pay for the whole order.
- 4
Tell your buyers
Mention the programme on your website, for example in the announcement bar (Settings → Branding).
How points work
- Points are earned when an order is delivered, not when it is placed. A cancelled order earns nothing.
- Points are counted on what the buyer paid for the goods after discounts. The part paid with points or store credit earns no points.
- Welcome points are given once when a buyer signs up. Referral points go to both the buyer who referred and the new buyer, once the referral completes.
- "Points expire after" is 365 days by default. 0 means points never expire.
- Setting "Spend needed for 1 point" to 0 stops earning on orders. Setting "Referral points" to 0 turns referrals off.
An example with the default settings

- ₹12 off, pays ₹788
Membership tiers
"Membership tiers" groups customers into tiers like Silver, Gold and Platinum, by how much they spend or by hand. Members get the tier's discount on bills and earn extra points.
Set up the tiers themselves in Customers → Tiers. This switch only turns the feature on or off.
"Member discount on trade prices too": off means trade (wholesale) customers already get their trade price, so the member discount is not added on top. On means members get the tier discount on trade-priced bills as well.
Customer statement links
"Customer statement link works for" is how many days an account statement link you send a customer keeps opening. 30 days by default. Changing it does not affect links already sent.
