Sell on Instagram & Facebook — product links in Reels and posts
Connect your store's product catalogue to Meta so you can tag your products in Instagram and Facebook posts and Reels, and buyers tap through to the product page on your store. Slaby publishes the catalogue feed for you on your own store address and keeps it current; you paste one URL into Meta Commerce Manager.
About 30 minutes of setup, then Meta's review (usually a few days).
Before you start
- A Meta Business account (business.facebook.com) that you are an admin of.
- An Instagram professional account (Business or Creator) connected to that Business account, and a Facebook Page for the business.
- Access to Meta Commerce Manager (business.facebook.com/commerce).
- A retail storefront with public prices. Stores that show prices only to approved wholesale buyers have no public catalogue, so the feed is empty — trade prices are never shared with Meta.
- Products with a photo and a retail price, published (active) in your Slaby admin.
- Product links in Reels: Meta is rolling this out gradually and only to eligible accounts and countries. If your Instagram account does not show the option yet, the catalogue still works for tagging posts and for your Facebook / Instagram shop, and Reels links appear once Meta enables them for you.
Step by step
- 1
Copy your feed URL
In your Slaby admin
Go to Settings → Sales channels. The Instagram & Facebook catalog card shows your feed URL — click Copy. It lives on your store's own address, for example https://www.yourstore.com/feeds/products.xml (or https://yourstore.slaby.in/feeds/products.xml if you have no custom domain).
The card also shows how many products are in the feed and why any are left out (hidden, no photo, no retail price), plus when Meta and Google last downloaded it.
Use the URL exactly as the card shows it. Product links in the feed use that same address, and Meta only accepts links on a domain you have verified (next step).
- 2
Verify your domain with Meta
In Meta Business Settings
Open Business Settings → Brand safety → Domains, click Add, and enter your store's domain — the one in your feed URL (for example yourstore.com).
Easiest — the meta-tag method: Meta shows a tag like <meta name="facebook-domain-verification" content="abc123…" />. Copy only the content value (abc123…), paste it into Slaby at Settings → Marketing & SEO → Meta (Facebook) domain verification code, and Save. Slaby adds the tag to every page of your store.
Alternative — the DNS TXT method: add the TXT record Meta shows at your domain registrar. Use this if you prefer DNS; it can take a few hours to show.
On a yourstore.slaby.in address, connect your own domain first (Settings → Custom domains) — a domain you own is what Meta verifies for product links.
Back in Meta, click Verify. The meta tag works within a minute of saving; DNS changes can take a few minutes to a few hours.

Add the feed to a catalogue as a scheduled feed
In Meta Commerce Manager
Open Commerce Manager and create a catalogue (type: E-commerce / online products) if you don't have one.
Go to Catalog → Data sources → Add items → Data feed. Choose Scheduled feed, paste the feed URL from Slaby, set it to update Daily, and pick your currency (INR).
Save. Meta downloads the feed straight away; the Items tab fills in within a few minutes. Fix anything listed under Issues.

Connect Instagram and submit for review
In Meta Commerce Manager
In Commerce Manager open Settings → Business assets and add your Instagram account and Facebook Page to the shop (Meta may call this Instagram Shopping or Shops).
Meta reviews the account against its commerce eligibility rules. This usually takes a few days; you'll get a notification in Instagram when shopping is approved.

Tag products in a Reel or post
In the Instagram app
When sharing a post or Reel, tap Tag products and search for the product by name — it comes from your catalogue.
Where Meta offers Link a product for Reels, you can also paste the product's address from your store (for example https://www.yourstore.com/p/denim-like). It must be a product that is already in your Meta catalogue, on your verified domain.
What to copy where
- From Slaby
https://www.yourstore.com/feeds/products.xmlCopy the exact URL from Settings → Sales channels.
- Into Commerce Manager
- Catalog → Data sources → Data feed → Scheduled feed, daily
- Into Business Settings
- Brand safety → Domains → your store's domain (meta tag or DNS TXT)
- Into Slaby (meta-tag method)
- Settings → Marketing & SEO → Meta (Facebook) domain verification code
Paste only the content value of the tag.
The feed carries what any visitor to your store sees: name, description, photos, retail price (and MRP as the regular price when it is higher), stock and brand. Wholesale and trade prices are never in it.
Test it
- 1.Open your feed URL in a browser — you should see your products listed (it is an XML file).
- 2.In Commerce Manager, the data source shows the last upload with no fetch error and your products appear under Items.
- 3.On the Sales channels card in Slaby, 'Last fetched by Meta' shows a time after Meta's first download.
- 4.In Instagram, Tag products finds your product by name.
If something goes wrong
Instagram says "This product isn't available to add on Instagram" when I paste a product link.
Why it happens: Instagram only links products that are already in your Meta catalogue on a verified domain. Usually one of: the feed was never added or not fetched yet; the domain in the link is not verified; the product isn't in the feed (no public price, no photo, or not published); the link is on a different address from the feed (e.g. yourstore.slaby.in vs www.yourstore.com); or your account isn't eligible for Reels product links yet.
How to fix it: Check the Sales channels card: the product count and 'Last fetched by Meta'. In Commerce Manager, search Items for the product. Verify the exact domain in the link under Brand safety → Domains. Give the product a photo and retail price and make it active, then wait for the next daily fetch (or use Request update on the data source).
The feed has no products.
Why it happens: Your storefront shows prices only to approved wholesale buyers (no public prices), the feed is switched off, or no active product has both a photo and a retail price.
How to fix it: Switch on a retail storefront if you sell to consumers (Settings → Storefront template → store mode), turn the feed on in Settings → Sales channels, and give products a photo and retail price.
Meta shows an old price or stock.
Why it happens: Meta updates on its schedule (daily), and the feed itself refreshes every few hours.
How to fix it: Wait for the next scheduled update, or click Request update on the data source in Commerce Manager.
Items are rejected for a link or domain problem.
Why it happens: The product links point at a domain that isn't verified in your Business account.
How to fix it: Verify the domain shown in your feed URL, or copy the feed URL again from the card after connecting your own domain, and replace it in the data source.

Common questions
- Do I have to list my store on the Slaby marketplace?
- No. This feed is your store's own catalogue on your own address and works whether or not you use the marketplace.
- Will wholesale buyers' prices appear on Instagram?
- Never. The feed and the product page's sharing tags carry only the retail price every visitor already sees. A store that hides prices from the public publishes no items at all.
- Can I use the same feed for Google Shopping?
- Yes. Google Merchant Center reads the same format, and the product links use your own domain — so claim that domain in Merchant Center.
- How often does it update?
- The feed reflects your catalogue within a few hours of a change; Meta downloads it on the schedule you set (daily).
