Take online payments into your own account

What this page is for

This page connects the payment account buyers pay into. You use your own Razorpay or Cashfree account, so the money settles with you directly. Slaby never holds it.

The box at the top tells you where you stand. Online payments are ON means prepaid and part-paid COD orders collect into your account. Not connected yet means buyers can only use COD or credit until you save your keys.

You need the Manage settings permission. Payment settings can't be changed by a support person signed in to your store, so only your own team can redirect where money goes.

Connect Razorpay in 5 steps

   Get your keys from Razorpay

   Razorpay dashboard → Account & Settings → API keys

   Generate a key pair. You get a Key ID (it starts with rzp_live_ for live, rzp_test_ for test) and a Key Secret. Copy both now, because Razorpay shows the secret only once.

   Pick Razorpay and paste the keys

   Settings → Payments → Payment gateway

   Set Payment gateway to Razorpay. Paste the Key ID and the Key Secret.

   Add the webhook in Razorpay

   Razorpay dashboard → Webhooks → Add new webhook

   Use your store's address followed by /api/webhooks/razorpay-tenant, for example https://www.yourshop.in/api/webhooks/razorpay-tenant.

   Tick the events payment.captured and payment.failed. Type a secret of your own choice in the webhook form.

   Paste the same webhook secret here

   Payments → Webhook Secret

   Type the exact secret you used in Razorpay. Slaby uses it to check that a payment message really came from Razorpay.

   Without the webhook, a buyer who closes the tab right after paying may leave an order stuck as unpaid.

   Save and place a test order

   Save payment settings

   Tap Save payment settings. The top box turns green: Online payments are ON. Place a small order on your store to check the full flow.

Or connect Cashfree

   Pick Cashfree and the environment

   Payment gateway → Cashfree, then Environment

   Choose Sandbox (test keys) or Production (live keys). Cashfree App IDs don't show whether they are test or live, so pick the one your keys came from.

   Paste the App ID and Secret Key

   App ID, Secret Key

   Copy both from the Cashfree dashboard's developer section and paste them here.

   Add the webhook in Cashfree

   Cashfree dashboard → Webhooks

   Point it at your store's address followed by /api/webhooks/cashfree-tenant, for payment success and failure. Cashfree signs webhooks with the same Secret Key, so there is no separate webhook secret to paste.

   Save

   Save payment settings

   Tap Save payment settings and place a small test order.

Take UPI payments directly into your bank (no gateway)

   Save your UPI ID

   UPI to your bank → Your UPI ID

   Type the UPI ID money should reach, like yourshop@okaxis, and tap Save. Check it carefully: buyers pay this exact ID.

   Name shown in the buyer's UPI app is optional. Leave it empty to use your store name.

   Scan the test QR yourself

   Your UPI QR card at the bottom

   Scan the QR with your own phone. Your UPI app should show your name. Buyers see the same QR with the order amount filled in.

   Switch it on

   Accept UPI to your bank

   Turn on Accept UPI to your bank. Buyers can now pick it at checkout, pay from GPay, PhonePe or Paytm, and send you the proof you asked for in Proof the buyer must send.

   Approve each payment

   The order's page → Verify UPI payment

   Open your bank or UPI app and check that the amount actually arrived. Then tap Payment received — approve. If it didn't arrive, tap Not received — reject; the order is cancelled and the stock goes back on sale.

   Screenshots can be faked. The money in your account is the only proof.

What the fields on this page mean

Payment gateway

The one account that collects online payments. Your store uses one gateway at a time. Keys for the other one are kept but not used.e.g. Switch from Razorpay to Cashfree: pick Cashfree, paste its keys, Save.

Key ID

Razorpay's public half of the key pair. It is safe for buyers' browsers to see.e.g. rzp_live_AbC123xyz…

Key Secret

Razorpay's private half. It is never shown back here. Leave the box empty to keep the saved one.e.g. The label says (saved — leave blank to keep) once a secret is stored.

Webhook Secret

The secret you typed when adding the webhook in Razorpay. It proves a payment message came from Razorpay.e.g. Same text in both places, for example Kurta$hop2026.

Environment

Cashfree only: whether your keys are test (Sandbox) or live (Production). It starts on Sandbox; pick Production when you paste live keys. Test keys never move real money.e.g. Testing your setup? Sandbox. Taking real orders? Production.

Wait for online payment

How long an order waits for the buyer to finish paying online. After that it is cancelled and the items go back to their cart. 5 to 1,440 minutes; 30 by default.e.g. 30 minutes: a buyer who leaves the payment page at 2:00 sees the order cancelled at 2:30.

Accept UPI to your bank

Offers "pay by UPI to the seller" at checkout. The buyer pays your UPI ID and sends a proof; the order waits until you approve it.e.g. ₹1,250 order → buyer pays yourshop@okaxis → you see ₹1,250 in your bank → approve.

Proof the buyer must send

What the buyer sends after paying: the 12-digit UPI reference (UTR), a screenshot, or either one.e.g. UTR number: 412345678901.

Wait for UPI payment proof

If no proof arrives in this time, the order is cancelled and the items go back on sale. Orders with a proof always wait for you. 24 hours by default.e.g. Order at 10 am, no proof by 10 am next day → cancelled.

Test keys don't collect real money Razorpay rzp_test_ keys and Cashfree Sandbox accept test cards only. Before you share your store, switch to live keys (Production on Cashfree) and place one real ₹1 or ₹10 order.

Common questions

Does Slaby take a cut of my online payments?

No. Buyers pay into your own Razorpay or Cashfree account and the money settles with you. Only the gateway's own fees apply.

Where do I find my Razorpay Key ID and Key Secret?

In the Razorpay dashboard under Account & Settings → API keys. Generate a key and copy the secret right away; Razorpay shows it only once.

I saved my keys but buyers still can't pay online.

Check the top box says Online payments are ON. If it says Not connected yet, the Key ID or Key Secret (App ID or Secret Key on Cashfree) is missing. Save them again.

Orders show as unpaid although the buyer paid.

The webhook is missing or its secret doesn't match. Add the webhook in your gateway with the address shown on this page and paste the same secret in Webhook Secret.

Why is the Key Secret box empty after I saved it?

Secrets are never shown back, for safety. The label says saved — leave blank to keep. Type a new one only to replace it.

Can I use Razorpay and Cashfree together?

No. One gateway collects at a time, so it is always clear whether an order is paid. You can switch any time; the other gateway's keys stay saved.

Can I take UPI without a payment gateway?

Yes. Save Your UPI ID and turn on Accept UPI to your bank. Each such order waits until you check your bank app and tap Payment received — approve.

What happens to an order the buyer never paid for?

Gateway orders cancel after Wait for online payment (30 minutes by default), and the items go back to the buyer's cart. UPI-to-bank orders without proof cancel after Wait for UPI payment proof.

Why can't support change my payment keys?

Payment settings are blocked for support sign-ins on purpose, so nobody outside your team can redirect your money.

How do I test before going live?

Use Razorpay rzp_test_ keys or Cashfree Sandbox, place an order with a test card, then switch to live keys and save again.
