Add your products and keep them up to date
Add a product with photos, prices and sizes, choose who sees it, and find it again in the list. Also covers duplicates, qty-break prices, stock by location and the Trash.
What the Products page is for
Products is your catalogue: everything you sell, at the counter and on your website. Each row is one product. A product with sizes or colours is still one row here; its sizes live inside it.
From here you add new products, open one to change it, and handle many at once. The buttons at the top are "Bulk edit" (a spreadsheet of all your products), "Import" (bring products in from Excel), "Trash" (deleted products) and "New product".
On a phone, Import and Trash are hidden to save space. Open the admin on a computer for them.
- To see this page you need the "View products" permission.
- To add or change products you need "Edit products".
- Staff without "View wholesale prices" never see wholesale prices or qty breaks in the product editor.
Add your first product in 5 steps
- 1
Click New product
Products → New product
Every product belongs to a category. If you have none yet, the page says "Add a category first". Create one in Categories, then come back.
- 2
Fill in Basics
Type the Name, for example "Cotton kurta", and choose a Category. Leave SKU empty and Slaby makes one for you. Brand is optional.
Name and Category are required. The form shows "Please fix the highlighted fields." if one is missing.
- 3
Add photos
The Images section
Click the upload button and pick your photos. They are made smaller in your browser before they upload. The first photo is the main photo; use the arrows to change the order. You can add up to 8 photos and videos in all.
- 4
Type the prices
The Pricing section
Wholesale price is required. Type Retail price too if you sell to walk-in customers or retail shoppers. MRP is optional, but it must be at least your highest price.
Example: Wholesale price 380, Retail price 450, MRP 599.
- 5
Click Create product
The product is saved and opens for editing. Now you can add sizes or colours under Variants, qty-break prices and stock by location.
Find products and change many at once
Use the filter bar above the list: Search (name or SKU), Category, Status, Stock and Sort. Click Apply. Clear removes every filter. The list shows 25 products per page.
Each row has three small buttons on the right: the pencil opens the product, the copy button makes a duplicate, and the bin moves it to Trash.
Tick the box at the start of a row to select it. The box in the header selects every product on this page. A bar then appears above the list.
- Delete selected: moves them to Trash. You can restore them later.
- Print labels: opens the label page for the selected products. See the Print labels guide.
- Generate barcodes: gives every selected product (and each of its sizes) a barcode if it has none.
- Show online / Hide online: puts them on your website or takes them off it. Slaby asks before it changes anything.
What the list columns mean
- Wholesale
- Your trade price. On your website only approved wholesale buyers see it.e.g. ₹380

- The open selling price for retail shoppers. The counter bills walk-in customers at this price. "—" means it is empty.e.g. ₹450
- Stock
- In stock, Low stock or Out of stock, as buyers see it. With "Track stock quantities" on, it follows the count on the Stock page.e.g. Low stock
- Status

- Counter only
- A small badge next to Status. The product is hidden from your website but you can still sell it at the counter.e.g. Active · Counter only

Only Name, Category and Wholesale price are required. Leave the rest empty until you need them.
- Name
- The product title buyers see. Keep it short and put details in Description.e.g. Cotton kurta, straight cut
- SKU
- Your own item code. Leave it blank and Slaby makes one. Import uses the SKU to find and update a product, so keep it unique.e.g. KUR-COT-01

- Where the product sits in your store's menu. Required. Create categories in Categories.e.g. Kurtas
- Brand
- Optional. Shoppers can browse your products by brand. Create brands in Brands.e.g. No brand

- Buyers order in steps of this number. Empty means single pieces.e.g. 10 — a box of 10 sells as 10, 20, 30…
- Max order qty (per line)
- The most pieces of this product in one cart line, 1 to 9999. Empty uses your store's default (200 unless you changed it).e.g. 50
- Allow requirement notes & photos
- Buyers can attach a note and photos to this product in their cart, for example their list of phone models. Your staff see them on the order.e.g. On for made-to-order items
- Final sale — no size or change-of-mind returns
- For sale or non-returnable items. Buyers can still return it if it arrived damaged, defective or wrong. It shows on the product page and applies to orders placed after you switch it on.e.g. On for clearance stock
- Show online
- Off keeps the product for your shop counter only. It is hidden from your website, search, Google/Meta feeds and the marketplace, but you can still bill it.e.g. Off for a piece you sell only to walk-in customers
- Barcode
- Optional. The code printed on the piece (EAN / UPC) or your own code. The counter finds the product when you scan it. One barcode belongs to one product or size only.e.g. 8901234567890
- Model allocation

- Wholesale price

- Retail price
- The price for retail shoppers and walk-in customers at the counter. If it is empty, retail shoppers can't buy the product online.e.g. 450
- MRP

- Cost price (internal)
- What one piece costs you. Only your team sees it. It is used for profit reports.e.g. 260
- HSN code
- The GST code for this product. Pick one from the list or type your own. Leave it blank to use your store's default.e.g. 6211
- GST rate (%)
- The GST rate for this product. Picking an HSN code fills it for you when it is empty. Leave it blank to use your store's default rate.e.g. 5
- Stock status
- In stock, Low stock or Out of stock. When stock tracking is on and the product has a count, this is locked and follows the count. Change the quantity in "Stock by location" instead.e.g. In stock
- Visibility
- Active puts the product on sale. Inactive hides it from your website and from the counter. Use it for items you have stopped selling for now.e.g. Inactive
Sizes and colours (variants)
Save the product first. Then open it and scroll to Variants. Under "Option axes", type an axis name like Color and its values like "Red, Blue, Green". Add another axis for Size if you need it (up to 4 axes). Click "Generate variants" to make every combination.
Each variant row has its own SKU, Barcode, prices, MOQ, Pack of, Max qty, Stock and an Online switch. Leave HSN and GST % empty to use the product's. Click "Save variants" when you are done.
Clicking "Generate variants" again after you change an axis keeps the rows you have already filled in. It only adds new combinations and removes the ones that no longer exist.
Upload each colour's photos once under "Photos by option" and every size of that colour uses them. Add photos on a variant row only if that one variant looks different.
- Every variant needs a SKU and a wholesale price, or the save stops with a message.
- If every variant is switched off Online, the product is not on your website. Show at least one option to list it again.
- To change many variant prices at once, use Bulk edit → Variants.
Lower prices for bigger orders (qty breaks)
Below the form is "Wholesale qty-break tiers". It gives approved wholesale buyers a lower unit price when they order more. Save the product first; a new product shows "Save the product first to add qty breaks."
Click "Add tier", type the Min quantity and the Unit price, and click "Save tiers". The line under each tier shows what it means, for example "At 50+ units → ₹360.00 each". Below the smallest tier, the normal wholesale price applies.
- Example: Wholesale price ₹380. Tier 1: 50+ at ₹360. Tier 2: 100+ at ₹340. A buyer ordering 120 pays ₹340 each.
- Two tiers can't have the same Min quantity.
- Remove every tier and save to clear them ("Qty breaks cleared").
Stock by location
The "Stock by location" box on an open product shows one quantity box per location (and per size). Type how many pieces you have and press Enter. Once any quantity is saved, the product's stock status follows the total by itself.
If you have no locations yet, the box links to Locations. To type many quantities quickly, use the Stock page instead.
Make a copy of a product
Click the copy button on a row in the list. Slaby makes a copy with "(copy)" after its name and opens it. The copy starts hidden (Inactive). Change the name and anything else that differs, set Visibility to Active, then click "Save changes".
Trash: bring a deleted product back
Deleting a product never removes it for good. It moves to Trash, which you open with the Trash button on the Products page. It is hidden from your website and the counter while it is there.
To bring one back, click Restore on its row and confirm. It returns to your catalogue as it was, with its prices and photos.
- Products in Trash don't count towards your plan's product limit.
- Restoring needs room in your plan. If you are at the limit, Restore is refused; delete or upgrade first.
- Deleting and restoring need the "Delete products" permission.
Your plan's product limit
Each plan allows a set number of products. When you reach it, creating, duplicating, importing or restoring a product stops with "your plan allows up to N products. Upgrade to add more." Products in Trash don't count. See Settings → Billing for your plan.
Selling to walk-in or retail customers? Fill in Retail price The counter bills walk-in customers at the Retail price, and retail shoppers on your website pay it too. A product with only a wholesale price can't be bought by retail shoppers online. Use Bulk edit to fill the Retail column for many products at once.

Common questions
- Why does New product say "Add a category first"?
- Every product needs a category. Open Categories, click "New category", type a name like Kurtas and save. Then add your product.
- What is the difference between Wholesale price and Retail price?
- Wholesale price is your trade price, seen and paid only by approved wholesale buyers. Retail price is for retail shoppers and walk-in customers at the counter. Fill both if you sell both ways.
- Why is Stock status greyed out?
- Stock tracking is on and the product has a count, so its status follows the count. Change the quantity in "Stock by location" or on the Stock page. Type 0 to make it Out of stock.
- How do I sell a product only at my shop, not online?
- Open it and switch off "Show online", then save. The list shows a "Counter only" badge. For many products, tick them in the list and click "Hide online".
- I deleted a product by mistake. Can I get it back?
- Yes. Click Trash on the Products page, find it and click Restore. It comes back with its prices and photos.
- How do I add sizes like S, M, L?
- Save the product first. Open it, go to Variants, type Size as the axis and "S, M, L" as the values, click "Generate variants", fill in each row's SKU and price, then click "Save variants".
- Why can't a buyer order just 1 piece?
- Check "Minimum order qty" and "Pack of (order in multiples)". A minimum of 6, or a pack of 10, means buyers can't order a single piece. Empty both to allow single pieces.
- Who can see my cost price?
- Only your team. "Cost price (internal)" is never shown to buyers. It is used for your profit reports.
- Why does my copied product not show on the website?
- A duplicate starts as Inactive so you can check it first. Open it, set Visibility to Active and click "Save changes".
- How many photos can a product have?
- Up to 8 photos and videos in all. Videos must be MP4 or WebM. Product cards always show your first photo.
- It says my plan allows only N products. What now?
- Delete products you no longer sell (Trash doesn't count), or choose a bigger plan in Settings → Billing.
